What if my home alarm system loses power because of a power failure?

Every home alarm system from Bay Safety comes with a backup battery installed. During power outages the alarm system will automatically switch to the backup battery and will keep your alarm system powered for up to 24 hours, depending on how much you use the system during this time. After the main power of your home comes back on, the alarm system will begin recharging the backup battery until it is at full power again. During this time the alarm system will report that the battery is low until fully charged. Please note that the back-up battery could need to be replaced every 1-3 years, depending on the amount of usage.

How do I find out if my city requires an alarm permit for my alarm system?

Each town or city’s alarm regulations are different, and some cities do require an alarm permit for your home security system. The best way to find out is to contact your local police department and ask them about your town’s requirements for home alarm systems. Registration of your home alarm system with the town you live in may be necessary before your town’s emergency personnel will respond to your alarm signals.
